Reporting from BRAHMS

Select the toolbar option to open the reporting form. From here, you can select report templates and use these to create reports. You can also create new report templates and edit existing ones.

Bear in mind that further reports can be created by using the various summary and calculate options available on most menus or by exporting data to Excel or elsewhere.

The main BRAHMS reporting form with options to add, edit report templates as well as import template samples. Reports can be viewed, printed (including to PDF files) or, in the case of text reports, sent to your word processor.

When you design a report - this is saved as a 'report template'. The tempate is associated with a specific BRAHMS module (e.g. Collection extract file), is named and registered in your reports library. Once designed, you can then use the template to produce reports from this module. If necessary, you can modify this template to adjust the reporting output - or you may choose to keep the template and design another. You can design and register as many report templates as you wish.

For example you might want to print labels from collection RDE files. In this case, a (visual) report template would be created and associated with collection RDE files. The same template can be used repeatedly to produce labels from your RDE files. You may want to design several RDE reporting templates for labels and lists.

There is overlap in the types of outputs that can be created by Visual and Text reporting. In many cases, the same report could be produced from either. They do however operate in a different way and the report template design processes are separate.
