Add and fast copy

• Use the standard Add button or its F-key equivalent (default = Alt+A). As discussed below, the Add function can be configured to copy selected fields from a previous record.
• To copy data from the above field to the current field, press F4
• To copy an entire record, press Ctrl+F4

In RDE, the toolbar is enabled. This allows you to configure what happens when you add a new record. You can use this option to select which fields to copy or increment and optionally force the cursor into a selected field after a new record is added. Auto-copy settings are local and can be disabled using the relevant option on the form.

An example:

• Open your RDE file and then select the toolbar button.
• Select the Copy option in the COLLECTOR, NUMBER, FAMILY and GENUS columns.
• Add 1 to the INCREMENT field opposite the NUMBER field.
• You can also edit the Goto field after record after add to skip to a convenient field.
• Save these settings by pressing OK.
• Test this by typing in new record and then adding a new record.
