The Application Process

We strongly encourage prospective applicants to communicate with potential supervisors prior to submitting an application to explain why they want to come and work in their particular field of study, to answer any questions on research projects, and to refine their application, especially where scholarships are involved.

Application deadlines

There will be three main application deadlines:
18th November 2011
20th January 2012
9th March 2012

If places are still available after the 9th March deadline we will consider applications up until 11th August 2012.

Candidates for research council studentships should send in applications by the 1st deadline (although applications may also be considered in later deadlines if places are still available).

Overseas candidates wishing to be considered for University scholarships or bursaries must apply no later than the 2nd university deadline (we do, however, encourage all candidates to apply by the first deadline if possible).
